Quercetin, or quercetin if you prefer, is a flavonol, that is a specific type of flavonoid, and flavonoids, (also called bioflavonoids), are organic compounds very widespread in nature, which are produced by the metabolism of plants, and belonging to the great polyphenol family. In traditional medicine these natural products are used for their marked antioxidant properties. Quercetin supplements often contain turmeric, provided that the latter is in a form with good bioavailability, that is, well usable by our body, and it is also for this reason that piperine (typical of black pepper) is added to turmeric. ). It is therefore not surprising to find turmeric in the formulation of a supplement with quercetin, this is an indication of a winning synergy.
